Influencer Campaign generated 169% increase in sales 

Car Paint Colours is a new brand that launched onto the market in June 2024. Following six months of work to build the website, develop the brand and launch the products, Plinkfizz contacted automotive influencer Classics by Jacob to work on an influencer campaign with the brand. 

ClassicsbyJacob has presence on TikTok, Instagram and YouTube. Together, it was agreed that in exchange for the smart-chip Premium Car Touch up Kit Jacob would film a How to Video and share it on his TikTok page. 

Classic’s by Jacob has:  

  • 14.9k followers on TikTok 
  • 1.13k YouTube Subscribers  
  • 1500 followers on Instagram  

 

Once he launched the post on TikTok, the video generated 970 views in the first few days.  

 

 

Influencer campaign roll out

Once the video had been recorded, quality checked by the Plinkfizz Content Team and signed off by the client, Jacob launched it to his almost 15,000 followers on TikTok.  

Plinkfizz then launched a Meta Ads Campaign which has stringent location and interests based targeting to reach car enthusiasts, using Classics by Jacob’s video.  

It has been published on the Car Paint Colours website and formed part of the organic social media content strategy too.

Influencer campaign results 

Following the launch of the influencer campaign, Car Paint Colour’s sales sky-rocketed.  

Sales in March increased by 169% vs February.  

ROI sits at 968% for the cost of the kit and advertising spend.  

Orders place increased by 103.5% in March vs February.  

Items purchased increased by 256.6%.

 

Brand building 

To get Car Paint Colours to a place where an influencer campaign would generate these results, Plinkfizz worked on an 8 month brand building programme 

 

Website development

The first phase was to develop a simple, yet effective website which would appeal to motor enthusiasts. Engaging with the DVLA, Plinkfizz integrated the DVLA’s number place matching technology to the website so users could simply enter their registration number and their exact car colour would be returned.  

Following this, the customer then only had to choose which car paint repair kit they wanted. This user experience was streamlined as much as possible to accommodate an audience which wants fast, reliable results.  

 

Digital PR Strategy and SEO

It was then important that the brand became visible to the wider UK market. The Plinkfizz PR specialists engaged with YouGov to run a specific survey which generated a large amount of data which was then applied to a national PR campaign. 

 

The PR campaign was crafted using the most interesting statistics generated from the national survey which included information such as:  

  • Blue cars are most likely to have scratches 
  • 53% of Brits said repairing small paint work on their car is too expensive  
  • Regional results were developed for local press and for geographically targeted SEO landing pages. 

The digital PR campaign was picked up by four key titles including The Express, The APB Club, Revive and Reading Chronicle. 

 

Each title supported the SEO backlinking strategy with the following domain authority rankings contributing to better search results: 

  • The Express – 82 
  • The APB Club – 22  
  • Revive – 29 
  • The Reading Chronicle – 47

 

The articles were used on the Car Paint Colours website and regional specific blogs were created to support the SEO on page content strategy all helping towards improving the websites visibility on search engines.  

 

Organic and paid social media strategy

Simultaneously to the digital PR and SEO campaign, new social media accounts were created and time was spent building the pages up with engaging and useful content.  

Channels selected correlated with the audience profiles and included:  

  • TikTok 
  • Instagram  
  • Facebook  

To help get the new pages seen, a low budget likes campaign was developed on META. Using highly specific interest and location based targeting techniques, the campaigns were developed to start making the brand visible to new customers.
