Students get a head-start in networking stakes
Local professional services businesses are taking time out to share their knowledge and experience with the city’s young employees of the future on Monday (February 6th).
Students from Stoke-on-Trent Sixth Form College will play host to members of professional services network finest for a networking event with a difference.
The event at the Sixth Form College at Leek Road, Stoke, will see the Atrium transformed into a business showcase venue with up to 80 young people interested in careers in Accounting, Law and Business Management testing their networking skills and introducing themselves to the influential employers.
Employers visiting the site for the Monday evening event include Mitten Clarke Chartered Accountants, Regency Chartered Management Accountants, Moore Stephens Accountants and Business Advisers and Robertsons Surveyors as well as apprenticeship providers and further education advisers.
Organiser of the event Business Curriculum leader Jos Sanghera said: “The Sixth Form College gives students not only an excellent education but also support to ensure they develop the skills employers need and expect.
“We are delighted to be working with finest and employers to introduce them to the potential employees of the future.”
Commenting on the event, Daryl Williams, finest co-ordinator said: “This is the first time finest has worked with the Sixth Form College to create an event that provides an opportunity for Accountancy, Business and Law students to engage with the local business community.
“Our members are always keen to support the young professionals of the future, and this is an excellent opportunity for the students to learn networking and interview techniques that are vital in today’s business world.”
