Confidence returns to jobs market, but where are the new recruits?
Confidence is returning to the local jobs market according to employment specialists Brampton Recruitment, but employees are appearing reluctant to make a move.
Dozens of high paying careers and jobs with decent prospects are flooding in to Newcastle and Cheshire-based Brampton, but potential recruits for the posts are proving elusive.
Opportunities in many different sectors are waiting to be filled, with a whole host of jobs particularly in the engineering sector and financial services.
Said managing director Claire Thomas: “The past few months have seen a significant upturn in the jobs market, with excellent opportunities from reputable employers landing on our desks at a rapid rate.
“Surprisingly, our biggest issue is finding the right candidates for the jobs. In recent years, with so many local redundancies we’ve been inundated with jobseekers so this is a very unusual situation for us.
“I can only assume that while employers are now confident to move forward with growth plans, employees are choosing to stay put rather than take the plunge and develop their careers.”
Well-paid opportunities on Brampton Recruitment’s books include posts for industrial engineers, maintenance engineers, design and development engineers, while in financial services there are sales, advice, compliance, consultancy and training posts waiting to be filled.
“It’s great to see so many local businesses begin to grow once again, but we really need employees to have the belief to consider making that career move.”
