Why won’t we accept data sent via email?

It may seem like a long time ago that all we heard about GDPR and some of you may even be asking what has changed.

However, GDPR is still very prominent in our minds especially when we are talking about data capture. Some of the things we won’t do are outlined below:

Personal data sent via email isn’t secure which means it’s open for others to access. We would therefore advise that this is sent to us via WeTransfer or Dropbox.

We won’t accept personal data that is sent via email. Personal data sent via email isn’t secure which means it’s open for others to access. We would therefore advise that this is sent to us via WeTransfer or Dropbox.

We won’t send to data lists that are out of date. We will automatically filter from our sends anyone who has requested to opt out of any further communications.

We won’t stop customers from having control over how we use their data. If a customer has asked to be ‘forgotten’ and would like to be removed from the database, we will remove them. Also, if they also ask to see what data we hold on them then we will provide this.

We are not legally able to provide GDPR compliance advice but would recommend visiting the ICO website https://ico.org.uk/ or speaking to your legal team to ensure you are GDPR compliant.
